$42,500 OTF Grant from Ontario Government is a Real Hit in Petrolia!
On Saturday, local MPP Bob Bailey joined Town of Petrolia Mayor R. Brad Loosley for a ribbon cutting ceremony for recently installed Baseball equipment at Greenwood Park thanks to a $42,500 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF).
“I’m extremely pleased that the Town of Petrolia is able to make these upgrades at Greenwood Park thanks to this important grant from the Ontario Government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation,” said Bob Bailey, MPP for Sarnia-Lambton. “Greenwood Park is a recreation hub in the Petrolia community; the new bleachers and batting cage will be a welcome addition to the busy ball diamonds.”
Awarded in June 2025, the grant funded the installation of three bleachers and a batting cage at the baseball diamonds in Greenwood Park. The new installations will enhance the viewing experience and improve the practice spaces at the park, helping to promote the sport of Baseball in Petrolia.
“I am so pleased to see this project complete with the support of the Province of Ontario. I would like to extend our thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their support of Petrolia. This will be a great addition at Morrison Field,” said R. Brad Loosley, Mayor for the Town of Petrolia.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation OTF is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province. In 2025-26, OFT invested nearly $107M in 746 community projects. Projects aim to enhance economic well-being, foster more active lifestyles, support child and youth development, provide spaces for people to come together and connect, and create a more sustainable environment.
