Together, we can make a difference—one tip at a time.
Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers is pleased to launch a new program to make it easy for people to see something and say something – anonymously. This pilot program launched in Petrolia this month, and through community signage, residents are encouraged to speak up.
“…We think of it as a way to remind people that when they know something about an incident or criminal activity in your community that it’s easy to send in a tip and potentially earn a reward for doing so. Our goal is to get drugs off the streets and bring criminals to justice.” Said Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers President, Sean Robbins.
The signs are placed around Petrolia as a passive reminder that you can make a difference when you have information, and that your information may lead to a reward. Importantly, these tips can lead to arrests and contribute to the solution of unsolved crimes and prosecution of those involved.
“Keeping neighbourhoods, schools and businesses safe are key to safe communities. Confidentially speaking up can prevent harm and prevent future crimes.” Added, Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers Vice President Jeff Stoudt.
Sarnia-Lambton Board Members will be appealing to each community in the County of Lambton to consider placing these signs to share in the effort of promoting community safety.
