Welcome to Petrolia –

What a special time to live in Petrolia! It all started with OIL! To think that in a mere 150 years we have come from a population with the sole objective of striking oil – at any cost, to a community of nearly 6,000 people that are proud of our hospital, our heritage, our theatre, our downtown and most of all – our people!
Petrolia is about community and always has been. From Petrolia becoming famous for having the world’s shortest streetcar track, building one of the first golf courses in Canada, to the philanthropic gift of a hospital, to rebuilding Victoria Hall – we are a PROUD community!
Petrolia as we know it today, speaks to the people that have built this community. Their unwavering determination, community-oriented perspectives, hard work, creativity, and resilience have built Petrolia to be a highly desirable place to live, play and do business.
I implore you to each tell five friends and have them tell five more about our amazing town, and why they shouldn’t miss a single event, activity or opportunity! On behalf of the Council of the Town of Petrolia I am pleased to formally welcome you all Petrolia!
