Welcome to Petrolia, “The Greatest Town on Earth”.

Over the past 150 years, our community has exhibited the kind of vitality and imagination that has created an exceptional lifestyle for our residents and wonderful experiences for our visitors.

We are focused on the health and wellness of our community supported by excellent Health Care and wellness facilities and services that are available to everyone. Our efforts would not succeed without the many volunteers who cheerfully give countless hours of their time to programs that benefit friends, family and neighbours.

Whether you are a visitor, a newcomer to our community or a long term resident, we invite you to enjoy all Petrolia has to offer. Please try out our new website and let us know if you have any suggestions for improvement.

Dear Residents & Visitors:

As the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Petrolia, I would like to welcome you to our re-designed website. I invite you to take a few minutes to explore the available resources our site has to offer from Council agendas, minutes, by-laws, Town departmental services, as well as business, tourism and community events information.

I am honoured to live and work in such a great town with a progressive Mayor and Council, alongside a very dedicated and talented staff.

Our Mission is to sustain the Town of Petrolia’s high quality of life for current and future generations.  To accomplish this we will serve the public interest through leadership, innovation and a focus on community priorities and strengths.

Resident Notice & Advisory

October 31, 2014

Monday, November 3, 2014 will mark the start of an L.E.D. upgrade to the streetlights in Petrolia.  There will be a notable increase of Bluewater Power vehicles in Town to complete this upgrade smoothly and quickly.  Residents and motorists are reminded to use extra care with the added work crews in Town.   It is estimated that the project will take around four weeks to complete.  The upgrade will be predominantly to lighting fixtures, and there is no scheduled interruption of any streetlights expected during the retrofit.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact Deputy Clerk/Operations Clerk Mandi Pearson at (519)882-2350 Ext. 221.

Winter is on its way, and Petrolia is taking steps to ensure that there is no overnight parking on Petrolia streets.  Snow maintenance and removal is a top priority for the Town, and is best accomplished without impedance.

Residents are reminded to avoid parking on the streets in Petrolia from November 1 to April 30 between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.  Residents that need temporary parking are asked to please contact the Town of Petrolia By-Law Enforcement Officer Kerry Bedard by calling (519)331-6348 or by e-mail at kbedard@town.petrolia.on.ca.  Other inquiries are to be directed to Deputy Clerk Mandi Pearson by calling (519)882-2350 Ext. 221.
