The Rotary Club of Petrolia has Donated a Bench and Flagpole to Further Beautify Petrolia

Petrolia – The Rotary Club of Petrolia has shown their support to Petrolia once again, with a donation of a new flagpole for Victoria Park and a new bench for Woodland Park.

The new flagpole in Victoria Park is situated behind the cenotaph and for the past few years has not been functional and each year for the raising of the flag on Canada Day and for the Remembrance Day service in the Park the rope had to be tied to the flagpole. The new flagpole has been installed, and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 216, Petrolia helped the Rotary Club of Petrolia and the Town of Petrolia raise a new Canada flag.

The bench in Woodland Park is a welcome addition to the Park at the end of Gem Avenue. Over the past several years, the Rotary Club of Petrolia has donated new playground equipment, swings, a half-court basketball court, and a picnic pavilion. The bench is located near the play equipment.

Mayor R. Brad Loosley said, “We would like to sincerely thank the Rotary Club of Petrolia for their continued support of Petrolia and our beautiful parks.”
