Petrolia Santa Claus Parade Looking for Marshall

Posted: October 5, 2017

Petrolia – The Town of Petrolia Community Services Advisory Committee is looking for your feedback on who should be the parade marshall for this years’ Petrolia Santa Claus Parade.  The theme is “A Canadian Christmas”, and promises to have all the truly Canadian elements just in time to close the year of Canada150 celebrations.

Last year marked the first year that there was an official parade marshall, or marshalls, as we had past Petrolia Mayors ride on the marshall float.  This year, “… the committee wanted to award the title of marshall by public opinion.  There are some excellent candidates in Petrolia and area, and we wanted to hear what our residents, and those of nearby communities, thought.” Said Community Services Advisory Committee Secretary, Mandi Pearson.

Nomination forms are available online at the town of Petrolia website, in person at Town Hall, or by e-mail request to Leah Belan at lbelan@petrolia.ca.  Nominations must be received by October 31, 2017 to be considered for this year’s parade.  The short nomination form includes the opportunity to explain why you think your nominee is the right person or persons.   The only catch, is that the nominee must be available on December 2 for the parade.

The announcement of this year’s marshall or marshalls will be made in November.
