Petrolia Heritage Funds Several Façade Grant Improvement Requests

Petrolia Heritage Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that the Committee has been able to provide funding to several Petrolia façade improvement projects this year.

Each year the Committee has a budget set by Council for these restoration and maintenance projects, with the hope to maintain and improve the downtown buildings in the historic core of Petrolia.  The main intent of the program is to ensure the integrity of the façade and to conserve the heritage value.  The program is application based, and, moving forward, the Committee accepts completed applications in March, with an April meeting to determine successful candidates.

The Grant covers up to 50% of the cost of the approved façade improvements, up to $10,000.00 per property.  The value of the project must be at least $2000.00.

The recipients for 2019 are:

Circle Studios, 4215 Petrolia Line in the amount of $3500.00

Black Gold Brewery, 395 Fletcher Street in the amount of $3500.00.

Masonic Temple Block, 4237-4239 Petrolia Line in the amount of $5000.00.

Committee Chairperson, Liz Welsh said, “It’s always nice to see so many building owners show interest in this program.  Petrolia is a great town, and our unique buildings and storefronts are such an important part of our identity as a community, and to the heritage of Petrolia.”
