PETROLIA FAMILY FUN DAYS PROMISE
FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
February in Petrolia means two things: family and fun! Events are planned throughout Petrolia February 16 and 19, 2024.
The weekend starts on Friday, February
16 with a FREE 7:00 p.m. screening of BACK TO THE FUTURE (PG) at
Victoria Hall, 411 Greenfield Street.
This screening is proudly sponsored by the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia
Foundation. Low-cost popcorn will be
available, no outside food or drink is requested, and those under 13 must be
accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The fun continues Saturday, February 17, with
FREE Family Sports and FUN from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Petrolia
YMCA, 360 Tank Street. All kinds of
sports and fun will be available for youth and the young at heart – don’t
forget some indoor shoes!
The Petrolia Heritage Advisory Committee
will host an Open House on Saturday, February 17, from
11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Victoria Hall.
This annual open house event has an “All Things Petrolia” theme
and will feature displays from local historians, Petrolia churches and schools,
and volunteers from the Petrolia Camera Club will be taking photographs of your
artifacts, and much more! This event is open to all and is no cost to attend.
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. the Petrolia YMCA will host an open
gym for those looking for more family fun – maybe challenge some friends to
some 3-on-3 basketball!
Saturday, February 17

The fun doesn’t stop on Sunday,
February 18, the Petrolia YMCA is back with FREE Family Sports and FUN
from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. at the Petrolia YMCA, 360 Tank Street. All kinds of sports and fun will be available
for youth and the young at heart – don’t forget some indoor shoes!
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. the Royal Canadian
Legion, Branch 216, Petrolia will host their monthly family fundraising
breakfast. Adults are $12, 6-10
years old for $6, and children under 6 eat free. Bring your family for breakfast
and support our Legion!
The Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire
Department is pleased to host a Family Safety Open House with some awesome
demonstrations and public education.
This event is always popular, and our Volunteer Fire Department members
put on a great show for the kids! The Open House runs from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00
p.m. Don’t leave the Fire Hall without supporting the department by purchasing
an item from their fundraising BBQ!
1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. the Petrolia YMCA will host an open
gym for those looking for more family fun – maybe challenge some friends to
a game of dodgeball!
FREE Sunday Public Skating takes
place at Greenwood Recreation Centre, at 4065 Dufferin Avenue from 1:50 p.m. –
2:50 p.m. This family fun opportunity is proudly sponsored by Mayor R. Brad and
Wendy Loosley. This skating event is also a Petrolia 150 pop-up event with free
cupcakes, while supplies last.

Rest up for a fun-filled Family Day!
Monday, February 19,
our traditional Family Day fun continues! New Life Assembly Church at
421 Oozloffsky Street will host and
sponsor a FREE Family Day Breakfast. All are welcome to come to the New
Life Assembly gymnasium between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. to enjoy a FREE hot
breakfast!

FREE swims on Monday, February 19, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
and again from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Lambton Central Petrolia Optimist Club
is proud to sponsor the return of the bouncy castles and games to the
gymnasium at the Petrolia YMCA from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Monday
also!
Make sure you plan to be at the Petrolia
YMCA for lunch on Monday, as the Lambton Central Petrolia Optimist Club
will have a low-cost family BBQ available from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.!

at Greenwood Recreation Centre, Petrolia.

When your family is finished skating, walk
across the parking lot to the Petrolia Lions Hall for a FREE Family Fun
BINGO from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. sponsored by The Lions Club of Petrolia.
Throughout the month of February, the
annual Snow Sculpture Contest is part of the fun! This year, the contest starts on February
1, and will run until February 19 at 4:00 p.m. The theme is “Petrolia 150”, and residents
are encouraged to be creative using props, paint and more, but are reminded
that the main ingredient must be snow.
The Lambton Central Petrolia Optimist Club is sponsoring the prizes for

contest, there will be no prizes awarded.
