I would like to take a moment to express my pride in our community, and my gratitude for our Central Lambton Family Health Team.I am thoroughly impressed with the vaccination clinic that was held in the Greenwood Recreation Centre this past Friday. From all accounts and perspectives, it was well-run, people were very comfortable, and the staff and volunteers were helpful and “smiling under their masks”.
To the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Central Lambton Family Health Team – thank you. I am so proud of your actions and efforts to help our residents and I am very impressed by the administering of 440 vaccines in one day!
To the Town Arena/Parks Staff, Director of Facilities and Community Services, Dave Menzies, Director of Protective Services/Fire Chief, Jay Arns, Support Operations Response Team (SORT), the Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Department, Dan Vasey, Thera Wagner, David Rogers, David Hogan, and Laurissa Ellsworth – thank you! You have, once again, shown our community that you care deeply for our residents and for the betterment of Petrolia.
It is no surprise that our community volunteered as well, Petrolia is rich with willing volunteers that are always willing to answer the call to help. I am so grateful to our community volunteers for giving their time to help with this clinic and to assist our residents and Health Team.
I was pleased to hear that the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia welcomed fan favourite, Dee Klinger, to provide some background music. The guitar was a very welcome addition as many people noted that they had not heard or seen a live artist in over a year. Many noted that it helped to calm their nerves and passed the required wait time very quickly.
Thank you to the residents that showed up in great numbers to receive the vaccine and to those that answered a last-minute call to help us fill every opportunity.
Stay strong, Petrolia. We are in this together, and hope is on the horizon. Stay six feet apart, wear your masks, and please stay home. Thank you for supporting our local businesses and taking care of one another.
