Curb Side Leaf Collection in Petrolia Starts October 18
The Town of Petrolia Operations Department will begin curb side leaf collection for the season on October 18, 2021.
Residents are reminded to use only paper bags for curb side leaf collection. To reduce the use of single use plastics, the Council of the Town of Petrolia passed this requirement to be effective as of January 1, 2020.
Only leaves will be collected. Residents are reminded to sort your compost and take it to the Compost Depot on Maude Street between 8:00 a.m. and noon on one of the following days:
Saturday, October 2
Saturday, October 9
Saturday, October 16
The Depot will accept branches, vines, and twigs that are less than 4” in diameter. Yard waste such as leaves grass, flowers, and plants. Please note that the yard waste needs to be separate from the branches, vines, and twigs.
Leaf Collection will take place Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on your regular waste collection day, starting Monday, October 18, and it will continue through Wednesday, December 15, 2021, weather permitting. The route will be completed as timely as possible with staff reminding residents that as the volume of leaves increases there may be a slight delay in collection as the team works through the streets of Petrolia.
