Water Restrictions Lifted in Petrolia

Petrolia, ON – Further to a Press Release sent on Friday, August 1, the Town of Petrolia would like to lift the restrictions surrounding the non-essential water use including watering of lawns, the washing of vehicles, and plant watering.

The maintenance at the Water Treatment Plant in Bright’s Grove, ON has been completed, and the plant has been running at capacity without incident for the past 72 hours.

Mayor John McCharles said, “We would like to thank our residents for their assistance throughout this request.  We appreciate the cooperation to this request, and are glad the maintenance was completed quickly.  We apologize for any inconvenience that the restriction caused.”  As always, residents are reminded to be mindful of their water usage and to please consider conservation.

The Town of Petrolia Water Treatment Plant supplies water to the Town of Petrolia through our distribution system, and to the neighbouring municipalities of Enniskillen Township, the Village of Oil Springs and the Township of Dawn/Euphemia.

Director of Operations, Mike Thompson said, “…The maintenance was completed quickly and efficiently due to the reduction in water demand for the town of Petrolia.  The Operations Department is grateful for the attention to the request by our residents. “
