Resignation of Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk Manny Baron

The elected-Council of the Town of Petrolia announces the resignation of Manny Baron from the position of Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk effective immediately, November 14, 2017. Mr. Baron has held the position of Chief Administrative Officer since July 2012.

“The Council is grateful to Mr. Baron for his assistance in enabling the Town to enhance Main Street, build a new waste water treatment plant and establish the Central Lambton Family Health Team,” stated the Mayor. “We appreciate his contributions to the Town in this regard and wish him well. I will not be commenting on the circumstances that led to his resignation.” he added.

Mandi Pearson will be the Town’s Interim Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk until the position is filled on a permanent basis. In this regard, Council has engaged the firm of Tim L Dobbie Consulting Ltd. to begin a search for a new Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk.

The Mayor also confirmed that Town Council has received the report of the Independent Investigator John Fleming and thanked Mr. Fleming for his diligent work, and timely report. The Fleming Report will not be made public, since it pertains to personnel matters.
