PROVINCIAL STAY AT HOME ORDER – EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, APRIL 8, 2021- MUNICIPAL SERVICE UPDATE
Petrolia – As per Provincial guidelines, we will enter the Provincial Stay at Home framework effective 12:01 a.m., THURSDAY, APRIL 8, 2021.
The Town of Petrolia Municipal Office will continue to be CLOSED to walk in traffic but available by telephone and e-mail and by telephone. Regular hours will continue from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Staff will be available to respond to resident requests or provide answers to questions by telephone to (519) 882-2350 or by e-mail to the specific staff member you require, or to our general inbox at email@example.com. Please note that “at need” cemetery services will be available by appointment only, and marriage licenses will only be available for events within 48 hours and for residents in Petrolia and area by appointment.
Parks, trails, playgrounds, and outdoor recreation sites remain open, and residents are encouraged to keep active with their family members and are reminded to maintain physical distance.
Please also follow the Town of Petrolia on Facebook, Twitter and check our website (www.town.petrolia.on.ca) for regular updates. We have a mail slot available for anyone that wishes to drop any correspondence or payments off at the Municipal Office to be processed by staff. At this time, the Municipal Office being closed to foot traffic will proceed until further notice.
All essential services will be maintained including water, wastewater, park maintenance, curbside waste collection and recycling collection and cemetery services. The staff of the Town of Petrolia are dedicated to maintaining the level of service that is expected from residents. For those looking for Transfer Site passes, they will be available once the Shutdown has been lifted, and the County returns to Red or less restrictions. Dog Tags remain available for purchase online.
Petrolia Town Council Meetings and Advisory Committee Meetings will proceed as scheduled online via video conferencing.
The Public Washrooms at the Petrolia Farmers’ Market will be available for use Monday – Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Victoria Playhouse Petrolia Box Office will remain closed to foot traffic until further notice. Ticket sales for future performances will still be available by telephone to (519) 882-1221 or 1-800-717-7694. Any outstanding rentals of Victoria Hall scheduled for March and April have been cancelled or postponed.
Please note that the Petrolia YMCA will continue to be closed.
The Greenwood Recreation Centre will remain closed at this time.
Staff are continuously monitoring developments around coronavirus (COVID-19), and we continue to look to the Public Health Agency of Canada, Public Health Ontario, and our various municipal health experts for recommendations, guidance, and direction.
