Mayor Letter to Residents – October 2, 2020

Posted: October 2, 2020

Dear Residents,

As we look ahead to Thanksgiving, I would like to take this opportunity to remind residents that we have so much to be grateful for. As we gather in our family or chosen family bubbles of ten or less, it is a good time for reflection and for gratitude.
As we see rising numbers in cases in Ontario and beyond, I would like to remind residents to please be diligent with hand washing, physical distancing, staying home when you feel unwell, going for testing when you have symptoms, and to wear a mask when indoors at a public place. We protect ourselves by hand washing and distancing and we protect and respect others by wearing a mask. Thank you for your part in keeping our community safe and well.
I am pleased that our arena is open with limited attendance, I look forward to when the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia can open to the public again. I am glad to see our businesses busy, and our restaurants being well-supported. I would like to remind residents that this is one of the very best things that we can do for our community – continue to shop local, while following health and safety protocols.
I continue to be thankful for our frontline workers in all fields, and the way that Petrolia has pulled together to support one another as we are able is nothing short of impressive. May each of you have a blessed Thanksgiving and I encourage you to each take a moment to think of what you are thankful for.
As always, I encourage you to contact our Municipal Office with any questions or concerns and our staff will gladly assist. (519)882-2350 or by e-mail to petrolia@petrolia.ca.
