Curb Side Leaf Collection in Petrolia Starts October 15

The Town of Petrolia Operations Department will begin curb side leaf collection for the season on October 15, 2020.
The start of this collection program also marks the beginning of the use of paper bags only for curb side leaf collection. To reduce the use of single use plastics, the Council of the Town of Petrolia passed this requirement to be effective as of January 1, 2020.
Only leaves will be collected. Residents are reminded to sort your compost and take it to the Compost Depot between 8:00 a.m. and noon on one of the following days:
Saturday, September 26
Saturday, October 3
Saturday, October 17
Saturday, October 24
The Depot will accept branches, vines, and twigs that are less than 4” in diameter. Yard waste such as leaves, grass, flowers, and plants. Please note that the yard waste needs to be separate from the branches, vines, and twigs.
Leaf Collection will take place Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on your regular waste collection day, starting Thursday, October 15, and it will continue through Tuesday, December 15, 2020 weather permitting. the route will be completed as timely as possible with staff reminding residents that as the volume of leaves increases there may be a slight delay in collection as the team works through the streets of Petrolia.

ONLY leaves will be collected
ONLY paper bags will be accepted
Collection will take place on your regular waste collection day
All items that are not leaves must be taken to the Compost Depot
This service will continue until December 15, 2020 weather permitting.
