A Letter to Residents from Mayor R. Brad Loosley – April 24, 2020
Posted: April 24, 2020
Today marks the end of a “Volunteer Appreciation Week” and it is timely when we look at some of the incredible volunteer initiatives that have been taking place in Petrolia recently. A graffiti concern has recently been identified in our community, and within days Dave Perrin of Metal Wurx Blasting and new resident Jamie Swart took the opportunity to do something good with their time. This brings great joy to Council as we love to see residents as invested in our community as we are. So many other community volunteers are working quietly at all kind of things to better our community including delivering groceries, cleaning up garbage on our streets, providing entertainment online – even a daily puppet show from Victoria Playhouse resident puppeteer Adam Proulx (find “Spencer Sparklestein” on YouTube for fun for the whole family!)!
Bluewater Health Chief of Staff, Dr. Haddad has said that “We will get through this COVID-19 Pandemic together as a strong community. … We are starting to see some hopeful signs that our collective effort and sacrifice is working.” This is encouraging news, and it prompts a reminder that staying home, physical distancing and changing our common behaviours and practices for day to day life are all helping. Keep up the good work Petrolia!

Until next time, try something new to virtually connect with your friends and family – maybe try a video call, you will be impressed with how easy it is! As a community, continue to be kind, take care of one another, and remember, we are here to help you! Please call the Municipal Office at (519)882-2350 or send an e-mail to email@example.com – our staff are here to help you with answers to your questions or to provide assistance as needed. Wishing you all continued good health, and wellness.
